Why I’m Here..

Well, friends…you may be wondering why I’m here, attempting to carve out a space for myself in the Internet world. Am I trying to become an influencer? Do I want to be a brand rep for lots of weird stores on Instagram? Am I hoping that this will turn into my full-time job?

Nope, nope, and nope! Actually, this all started with a New Year’s Resolution.

2020 was a hell-of-a-year, huh? From a global pandemic to a hostile election and just general anxiety amongst the global population, I think we all had unique opportunities throughout the year to step back and assess our lives.

Are we spending time the way we want to be? Are we happy with our lives as they are? Are our jobs worth our time (especially when we have to do them from home full-time while also making sure our toddlers don’t burn the house down)? Are we making a lasting impact on this world?

Maybe I’m the only one who had those thoughts.
But man, I had a lot of thoughts.

And I shared very, very few of them.

So, then came 2021. And I opened up the Notes app on my phone (like a celebrity about to make a half-hearted apology for god knows what)…

Real life notes app screenshot for accountability ;)

Some of these resolutions have mattered more to me than others. But when I decided to write more, I couldn’t ignore that one. The do not be afraid continued to gnaw at me until I had an actionable plan.

So, all that to say…here I am.

I’m going to boldly write. And I’ve decided I will boldly write about things that matter to me — faith, the Church, justice in the world (and inclusion of all people), ethical fashion, honest motherhood, etc. I’ll share a lot of my journey on Instagram over at @Brooke_E_Green, but if you want the nitty gritty, here’s the place to be.
